DALHOUSIE - OVERVIEW
Dalhousie, for a change, is not named after any divinity or any sage, like other Himachali hill stations. This lovely town got its name conceived to honor an erstwhile British governor, Lord Dalhousie.
Flooded with scenic loveliness, Dalhousie appeals to many vacation searchers to itself. Dense woods enriched with diversities of flora and fauna, rivers flowing through deep valleys, huge Dhauladhar ranges surrounding the district 360 degrees. Also, British-era churches and other buildings, and much more is there to explore in and around the city.
Freedom fighter, Netaji Subash Chandra Bose found this place quite enchanting that he stayed here for almost three months in 1937. To honor such a great leader of India, two spaces in the town are called after him.
Chamera Lake, a basin of Chamera Dam built on the boisterous river Ravi, tempts visitors to indulge in kayaking, fishing, boating, and other fun activities.
At a distance of a mere 15 km from the town lies a hamlet also called the Switzerland of India, Khajjiar. Preferred by many tourists, Khajjiar appeals to them with its lake and Kalatop Sanctuary (overlooking the village).
It is hard to resist visiting Dainkund peak facing the vast pastures of Khajjiar. Charming is an apposite word to define the peak top as photographing the captivating vistas from here reserve the memories digitally on your camera’s memory card.
Mall Road in Dalhousie is alike to the road with the identical name in other hill stations. Flooded with eateries, bakeries, shopping outlets, hotels, and cafes.
Dalhousie is situated in Chamba district that can be visited by road via Chandigarh-Delhi road. It is about 560 km from Delhi-NCR.

How to Reach
By Train: The nearest railway station is in Pathankot. Trains from many cities of India like Delhi, Amritsar, Jammu, etc., run every day to Pathankot. You can reach Dalhousie from Pathankot by a hired cab.
Apart from Pathankot, we can offer pick-up from Amritsar, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Kalka railway stations even.
By Air: Nearby airport is Gaggal airport in Dharamshala. You can board a flight from Chandigarh or Delhi to reach Gaggal. From the exit of the airport, our cab can pick you to drive you to Dalhousie.
Other than Dharamshala’s Gaggal airport, cab boarding from Delhi, Chandigarh, and Amritsar airports are also possible.
